MINO is pleased to announce the successful completion of the erection of the new fully automatic Preparation Station at Aluminium Norf GmbH (ALUNORF), installed on one of the single-stand Cold Rolling Mills (CRM) in Neuss, Germany.
The installation was carried out during a very short planned outage, carefully managed to minimize the impact on mill operation and productivity. This result was achieved thanks to thorough preparation, efficient execution on site, and close collaboration between the MINO and ALUNORF technical teams.
Following the erection and commissioning activities, the first aluminium coil has been successfully processed through the new Preparation Station. This milestone confirms the correct operation of the mechanical equipment and the effectiveness of the coil preparation process under real production conditions.
The system is now in a dedicated optimization phase, during which the automatic preparation sequences are progressively refined using operating data from the mill. By continuously fine-tuning process parameters, the system is steadily improving measurement accuracy, repeatability, and overall process reliability, allowing it to fully adapt to production requirements.
MINO would like to thank the ALUNORF technicians for their strong commitment and fruitful collaboration throughout the project. At the same time, special recognition goes to the MINO site team, whose professionalism, flexibility, and dedication were key to achieving this result within such a tight outage window.
This milestone confirms MINO’s capability to deliver advanced automation solutions for cold rolling mills, successfully commissioned in reduced downtime conditions and designed to reach optimal performance through progressive operational optimization.
