Located in Daegu, South Korea, Choil Aluminium Co., Ltd. was established in 1975 and is today considered one of Korean leading companies in the production of high quality coils & sheets of aluminium and aluminium alloys.
Choil’s products cover foil stock, fin stock, condenser cases, electrical wire covers, litho sheets, cosmetic caps, closure sheets, embossed sheets for construction, sheets for household goods.
Within Choil’s new investment plan for increasing the production capacity and quality of rolled material, MINO has been awarded the contract for the supply of the new Hot Rolling Mill.
The new Hot Mill will be able to produce top quality aluminium strips ranging from AA1XXX series to AA5XXX and AA6XXX series.
The new Hot Rolling Mill is of single stand/reversing type, four-high design and is complete of two coilers.
Thanks also to state-of-the art cooling & spraying system and to exit x-ray scanning equipment, the strip produced in the new Hot Mill will display reduced strip crown, even on exit strip gauge as thin as 3 mm, in order to meet the most stringent international standards required by the high-tech Korean industry.
To achieve this, the Hot Mill will be equipped with the latest version of MINO’ s self-learning Level 2 System, capable of adjusting rolling parameters (such as number of passes, thickness reduction per pass and rolling speed) in order to attain the final gauge in combination with proper thickness tolerances (both in longitudinal and transverse direction) and ideal strip temperature.
MINO is not new in Korea’s aluminium field having supplied back in the years 1996 and 1997 one Hot Rolling Mill and two Cold Rolling Mills to the Company Namsun Aluminium, today’s Daeho Aluminium, which are successfully working ever since the time of installation.
MINO is proud of being associated with Choil Aluminium in its investment plan, aimed at achieving new heights in terms of quantity and quality of hot rolled strip produced in the Daegu plant.
