Breaking News: Jintian Copper selects MINO again!

MINO has been awarded by Jintian Copper Group one more Contract for the supply of two new Intermediate/Finishing Cold Rolling Mills for copper and copper alloys.

Jintian Copper Group was established in in Ningbo in 1986 and is today listed among the biggest world’s producers in the field of copper & copper alloy products, including strips, plates, bars, wires and tubes.

Jintian Copper has today more than twenty production and sale subsidiaries in the world.

The main products include copper & copper alloys wires, bars,  tubes, fittings, strips, sheets, plates, enameled wires, valves and magnetic materials.

Copper & copper alloys strips produced by Jintian Copper find applications in the high-end sectors of automotive, electrical equipment, electronics, renewable energy and heat exchangers.

With a total amount of products sold in 2023 achieving the staggering figure of 1.91 million tons globally (!), Jintian Copper ranks first in China and among world’s biggest companies in the sector of copper & copper alloys products.

The association of Jintian Copper with MINO dates back to 2015, when the first Contract was finalized for the supply of a Six-high Finishing Mill capable of rolling copper strip down to 35 microns.

That first very successful cooperation was followed by a second Contract finalized in 2018 for the supply of one more Six-high Finishing Mill for the production of thin strip.

Today, we are proud to announce that the long-lasting partnership between Jintian Copper and MINO is reaffirmed with the award of this new Contract covering the supply of two more Intermediate/Finishing Cold Rolling Mills.

The two new Intermediate/Finishing Cold Rolling Mills will be installed in the Ningbo plant and will be part of the Company’s relentless investment programme, aimed at continuously enhancing the quantity and quality of their production of high precision copper & copper alloys strip.

The new Cold Mills will produce copper & copper alloys strips in the width range of 450-650 mm and in the thickness range from 3.00 mm down to 0.10 mm, meeting the highest standards of thickness/flatness tolerance, as well as surface quality, which are required nowadays for high-tech applications.

The new Cold Mills will be equipped with state-of-the-art automation system including the latest generation of MINO Process Control’s AVANTI^tm TCS system for AGC/AFC control, complete with unique model based predictive control algorithms.

Moreover, the new Cold Mills will be equipped with the advanced valve pulsing technology, for achieving maximum effectiveness in controlling the thermal crown of the rolls. 

The design of the Cold Mills is particularly focused on the rolling process of high-precision strips: accurate tuning of work roll’s thermal crown, optimized roll gap’s control both in Four-high and Six-high configuration, high precision strip tension control and high-quality strip surface can be achieved only by combining together optimized mechanical design, accurate manufacturing of the equipment together with advanced automation system.

All MINO’s technical solutions are the result of its experience and know how gained in this specific field over the last 70 years!

Moreover, following MINO’s established and successful practice for such type of high precision equipment, both the Cold Mills will be manufactured and pre-assembled in MINO’s Alessandria (Italy) workshop.

The repeated orders by Jintian Copper to MINO are the most convincing proof of the confidence that Jintian Copper has in MINO’s capability and experience in the field of Cold Rolling of copper & copper alloys, earned over decades of successful cooperation and fruitful technical exchanges with Jintian Copper.
